Welcome to
Dear Young Shepherd
For decades, Pastor Edward Robson has dedicated his life to guiding and teaching others, from inner-city communities to university students and faculty. His ministry has spanned generations—reaching those shaped by the counterculture movement, Vietnam veterans and young leaders seeking wisdom. Believers and unbelievers are blessed by his teaching and counsel.
With a deep commitment to biblical scholarship, Pastor Robson earned his Ph.D. in Humanities from Syracuse University, focusing on the Greek New Testament. His passion for teaching led him to Ottawa Theological Hall and later to the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, where he served as Professor of New Testament Studies until his retirement in 2005.
The insights shared in Dear Young Shepherd are drawn from his years of experience, offering guidance, encouragement and timeless wisdom for those called to lead, as well as those who love the Lord.

What readers say
Ed Robson's work on The Revelation is uniquely helpful in understanding this challenging book and, especially, in appreciating its purpose for blessing.
The Reformed Presbyterian Church, Oswego, NY
Dear Young Shepherd is a guide for young pastors. Each pastor has his own gifts and talents, but the principles on how to think about the ministry are applicable to all. Dear Young Shepherd deals with principles: what issues are important and what are not; what a pastor should do and what he should not; ways of managing one’s time, priorities, and warnings about some dangers. The book will appeal to men and women who are not pastors and will provide valuable insights into the pastoral ministry.
The Reformed Presbyterian Church, Rochester, NY
The focus on Revelation being a “Book of Blessing” is a refreshing change from the focus of too many commentaries on other things. Pastor Robson is careful to show how Revelation fits into the whole of Scripture as a witness to Jesus Christ and helps us understand history from God’s perspective. I was blessed to be part of his Bible study on Revelation.
Along with all the other volumes in the series, this [10-E] volume is the result of a lifetime commitment on the part of Dr. Robson to carefully and diligently study the book of Revelation to show how it truly fits into the whole of Scripture and is truly a “Book of Blessing” as it proclaims Jesus Christ and shows the working of our sovereign Lord throughout the course of history.
The Reformed Presbyterian Church, Rochester, NY
"Dear Young Shepherd" by Dr. Edward Robson is a rather unusual book. It is partly the autobiography of a pastor / teacher, partly the relating to new elders (ruling and teaching) about what to expect in their ministry, partly the application of Scripture to the office of elder, and partly Dr. Robson's view of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in which he ministered as a pastor, seminary professor, and in retirement in various capacities. And still does minister in the Rochester congregation. He especially deals with the attitude that an elder must have as a humble servant of our Lord Jesus.
You will not find this book a theological development of the office of elder, but almost a stream of consciousness picture of the practicalities of serving as an elder. You will find yourself thinking: "I am so glad of Dr. Robson's insight in dealing with this situation." or "I never thought that would happen!"
This book will be a help and blessing to those beginning their ministry in the church of Jesus Christ.
